Ode to Mom and Dad
Hello friends, I've been ruminating on my trip and think it's appropriate to mention how much I appreciate my parents.
I know they really miss me (and I miss them). Despite how much they knew they'd miss me they still encouraged me to leave home. They put what's best for me ahead of their own desires. Their support helps give me the confidence to do things that may seem unconventional. I appreciate that. I'm lucky to have parents that really and truly want me to do what makes me happy and who take joy in helping me figure out what that is and how to go about doing it.
Dad says: "As I have said repeatedly, God love you for taking the time, as a gift to yourself, of the seven months traveling."
Thanks Mom and Dad.

Dear Lauren:
What a thoughtful and timely tribute to your parents! As a parent myself I can appreciate the trepidation they must have felt seeing you off on your journey and, I'm sure, the great sense of relief that you will soon be back together as a family. It must be especially rewarding to them that you chose this forum to express your gratitude publicly rather than in a letter or an e-mail. They can be justifiably proud of you.
Since we are nearing the end of your journey (and this "blog-pal" correspondence) I reiterate my appreciation of your efforts to take your readers along on this journey. I have looked forward to your reports with great anticipation, particularly in the first four or five months. Had I been more knowledgeable about yoga I might have appreicated the last months' reports as fully as the earlier ones. I couldn't get the recent videos to play.......quite possibly I just didn't wait long enough for them to load onto my obsolete computer.
And, once again, I compliment you on your grammar, exposition, content, accuracy, conciseness, and just in general, your overall writing style. I still think you'd make a great journalist! I've enjoyed the correspondence! (and the photos). Thank you!
In the event that this blog site is abondoned, I still have your e-mail address so that I might advise you of the near term work location assignments for Bud's Bunch, though at the present we are still "unemployed". I do hope that we might have an opportunity to get together before you leave for school.
I wish you a safe journey home. The Lord bless you and keep you in His care.
George
